Editorial policy

The rules we hold ourselves to, written down so you can check whether we followed them.

Sourcing

  • Regulatory and registry claims cite the primary source — the portal, the regulation, the gazette notification — not a secondary article summarising it.
  • Vendor claims are attributed to the vendor. “Provider X states that…” is not the same sentence as “X is true”, and we do not collapse the two.
  • Where a figure cannot be verified, it is omitted. We do not publish a plausible-sounding number in place of a real one.

Dating regulatory claims

Indian data protection and telecom marketing rules are being phased in over several years. Any statement about what the law currently requires is stamped with the date it was checked, and articles carry a visible Updated date. A rule that was accurate when written can be wrong six months later — treat every compliance article here as a checklist to verify with counsel, never as legal advice.

Review

Articles that describe data structures are checked against the live registers before publication. Articles that touch legal obligations state clearly that they have not been reviewed by counsel unless they have, in which case the reviewer is named.

Commercial independence

FinScreener Data Solutions operates both this site and finscreener.in. No vendor pays for coverage. Comparison articles name competing products by name. Commercial outbound links — including our own — carry rel="nofollow". The full arrangement is on the disclosure page.

What we refuse to publish

  • Techniques for evading DND registries or consent requirements.
  • Methods for extracting data from behind authentication or rate limits.
  • Any framing of registration data as proof of creditworthiness, revenue or purchase intent.
  • Fabricated case studies, testimonials, ratings or record counts.

Corrections

Factual errors get fixed and labelled. A correction note names what was wrong, what it says now, and the date it changed. We do not silently edit a claim out of existence. Report an error at editor@gstsignal.tech or via the contact page.

Use of AI tools

Drafting assistance is used. Publication is not automatic: every factual claim, citation and figure is checked by a person before it goes live, and that person is accountable for it. Nothing is published to a schedule that outruns our ability to check it.
